True Linkswear Outsider Review

by admin Leave a Comment

Befor we dive into this True Linkswear ousiders review… Let’s talk a bit.

The past 2 years has made it seem like TRUE had lost its mojo. The last TRUE shoe before Original I loved was the Motion which is now 2 years old. It was Trueish but certainly wasn’t my favorite and since it had hiccups, only making my shoe rotate minimally.

The more recent Classiz and Elements didn’t really do it for me either with their spikes. I loved TRUE for their spikeless shoes. It was obvious that TRUE needed a comeback if it wanted to remain in game. It appears that in 2017, TRUE went back to its origins and created the pair of shoes designed to be the most comfortable shoe you can play gold in. The Original retains some of that original look, while the Outsider is a whole different animal.  It is a Totally New TRUE, but Still Totally Awesome.

The reason True became successful I 2010 was their amazing comfort right out of the box. You could basically take them out of the box and walk 36 holes without a single issue. They were super comfortable. The zero drop may have required some adjustment, but the comfort it offers was undeniable.

The style and quality was different, but they evolutional-ized the golf shoe market ever since. The Outsider goes back to their root and builds a completely new platform and comfortable golf shoe and that is what gave rise to today’s True Linkswear Outsider review.

True Linkswear Outsider Review

The new TRUE line lacks zero drop. This had been a long standing feature of TRUE that zero drop is more natural for walking, except for the fact that almost every person has grown up walking in shoes that lacks zero drop so while “natural:, to some, it never really felt natural.

I learned to adapt and enjoy, but some could never bring themselves to make that adjustment. The Outside has a more traditional sight rise from the toe to the heel.

  • Outsole Design

The TRUE Outsider spikeless outsole is uniquely different. It is unlike any previous TRUE shoe. It appears to almost be multi-material with the different zones, varying tread colors and styles. The new TRUE spikeless outsole is more  grippier than ever. This allows the golfer to slip them on and off the course which makes me happy.

  • A beauty to behold

The TRUE Outsider spikeless outsole is completely different. It is unlike any past TRUE shoe. It appears to almost be multi-material with the various zones, different tread colors and styles. The new TRUE spikless outsole grips now more than ever. This allows the golder to wear them on or off the course which to me has always been the appeal of TRUE.

  • Comfort and Mobility

A new TRUE midole makes this shoes extremely comfortable while walking. It has a thin memory foam insole that creates a very soft feel on each step, yet doesn’t reduce the feel of being connected to the ground during the swing.

The Ousider seems to offer the best of both worlds in terms of cushion, yet connected traction. It still has a kind of fairly wide toe box for lots of space to wiggle your toes.

  • Better support

In the past, there had been complaint against TRUE that it lacks support in its shoe. The thin, low and somewhat unstructured design of the shoes doesn’t really offer much ankle or foot support that some golders desire.

It never really bothered me as it did others. The TRUE Outsider provides a similar sock like structured feel, yet the new leather uppers clearly create lots of support for your ankle and foot.

They aren’t high-tops for high ankle support, but the stiffer leather upper does reduce foot roll. They also provide excellent waterproofing. While AZ doesn’t have lots of rain to deal with, my feet have have stayed very dry when the grass has been soaked by morning dew.

  • Immediate Use

TRUE linkswear outsiders can go straight from the box to the gold course with amazing comfort. Their sizing is still the same running just a little bit large so my normal 9.5 size becomes a 9 in TRUE.

It seems as though they returned to its root and made a shoe that I can walk in almost daily since the time I had them. So far, I can predict that thee spikless soles will have a longer life than past models.

The TRUE Outsider has regained TRUE’s top spot in my shoe rotation.  The “reboot” of TRUE has them headed in the right direction again.  The Outsider is madly comfortable right out of the box, offers great traction and support for any circumstance.  These aren’t just good golf shoes; they are great everyday shoes that you can also golf in.  They are a Totally New TRUE, but still Totally Awesome.
We our True Linkswear Outsider review has helped you decide. See you next time!
