When ordered for, Bowflex Selecttech 552 dumbbells are shipped as a pair as a much cheaper method of working out than buying a traditional home gym.
The SelectTech 552 adjustable dumbbell set replaces the common 15 different sets of weights (from 5 – 52 lbs), all with just two dumbbells. Simply turn the dials to select your preferred weights and begin lifting.
This method saves much more money and space than ever, which is why the dumbbells are so famous. This Bowflex Selecttech 552 review as the name suggests compares the set and bench to other home gyms we’ve reviewed. The combination of equipment is the most affordable and compact home gym option we’ve discovered.
After trying a set for a months, there is so much to talk about.

- Very minimal workout space required

Bowflex SelectTech 552 Review
Bowflex SelectTech 552 Dumbbells offer resistance levels from 5 pounds – 52.5 pounds of weight, meaning they replace 30 different dumbbell weights in 2 pieces.
This makes it simple to begin out slow, and then slowly adjust workouts in 2.5 pound increments until you reach your desired strengthening weight.
For a lot of exercises done with correct form, 52 lbs in each hand is more than enough. This is why I chose to purchase the instead of the SelectTech 1090 set, but hopefully I’ll be able to move onto those higher weights in the next year or so.

Features
The best feature of Bowflex SelectTech 552 Dumbbells is that they save so much space, cost less (when compared to competitors) while still offering you a full strengthening workout. Since users focus on one set of dumbbells rather than 15 sets, they can simply fit the Bowflex SelectTech 552 Dumbbells in any corner of a basement, house or apartment.
Our Bowflex SelectTe ch 552 review set shows that it comes with a lot of accessories, including ergonomically designed stand.
The Bowflex Selecttech 552 stand is designed to make lifting safer and easier on your back. The adjustable decline/incline workout bench totally makes the Bowflex SelectTech 522 a total home gym without the traditional price tag of $1,000 – $3,000. If you’re looking to get the best bang for your buck, I would advise the 552 Dumbbells ($349) and the Bench ($199). The total cost is $548, making this one of the cheapest home gyms available.

My Personal Experience
I’ve been a faithful user of the SelectTech 552 home gym for a very long time now, and while it took a couple of workouts to get use to their shape and size, I can’t deny the versatility of these things.
At first, I was a bit sceptical about ordering the whole set since I heard some users talking about the hard plastic molding and dial system giving them challenges, but I hadn’t encountered any form of issues and the two-year warranty period would cover the repair or replacement for free if something does happen.
My only setback with replacing my old dumbbells, with the SelectTech home gym is that I’ve realized it is more hard to do overhead exercise without hitting my head. I know, right? But until I got used to the fact that they’re wider than the typical dumbbells to accommodate the space for up to 52 pounds, I bumped my head several times.
The grip is excellent, especially with a nice pair of workout gloves. The construction of the hard plastic and metal molding feels sturdy. To be honest, I do miss the satisfying “clang” sound when they meet, but it is nice that workouts are quitter this way.
The bench makes me want to sell my complete home gym because it provides me all the versatility of a traditional bench in dramatically less space.

Warranty & Guarantee
The Bowflex SelectTech 552 boast of a 2 year warranty on all parts. You can also get your money back (less S&H) in the first 6 weeks if you don’t feel they’re worth the investment.
The warranty covers both parts and labor (if you have to send them back to fix an issue), which I thought was cool because a large share of companies only covers parts on their products.
But, some people are also more worried about at sooner problem: what if you get your dumbbells and you don’t like them? Well, Bowflex has a solution for that as well, offering a 6-week Fitness Results Guarantee on every purchase. They’re so confident you’ll love your SelectTech’s that they’ll totally refund you if you’re not completely satisfied with them.
I see this as an impressive guarantee because I like a company that knows and stands by their stuff, and I think an assurance like this is vital because it makes your purchase 100% worry-free and provides you the opportunity to try them for a while, almost looking like a free trial, but you still have to pay upfront. If you buy a pair and don’t like them, you can return them and get your money back with no questions asked.
